Your Privacy.
Your privacy is always at the forefront of our work. I utilize a HIPAA compliant platform called Simple Practice. I also use a HIPAA compliant phone number and email address through Google Workspace. Read Emma Kimball Counseling’s HIPAA Notice and see how I am protecting your confidentiality in all that we do together.
The No Surprises Act.
The No Surprises Act protects people from receiving surprise medical bills. It also establishes a dispute resolution process for payment disputes between plans and providers, and provides new dispute resolution opportunities for uninsured and self-pay individuals when they receive a medical bill that is substantially greater than the good faith estimate they get from the provider.
FAQs
Are you seeing clients in-person or virtually?
I currently offer tele-therapy sessions through a HIPAA compliant online platform called Simple Practice. Prior to our first appointment, I’ll provide you with a link to sign up for this portal, where you can complete your intake forms and gain access to our session. Due to licensing requirements, clients must be in Georgia to meet with me. In preparation for our appointments, it is best if you find a quiet, private space where you have a good internet connection.
Do you take insurance?
I am currently “out of network” with all insurance plans. Insurance companies can dictate your care in a way that is not always beneficial to you or the therapeutic process. If you have confirmed with your insurance company that they will assist with out of network coverage, I would be happy to provide you a superbill for your session, just let me know. A 10 business day notice is necessary to complete the superbill.
What will my first session look like?
Making your first appointment is such an important step! After we decide if I am the right therapist for you, I’ll send you the link to my portal. This is where you’ll complete some intake paperwork and schedule your first appointment. We’ll hold our sessions through this portal as well. This first appointment is an opportunity for you to share more about what you’re currently going through, why you’re seeking therapy, and what your goals are for treatment. I’ll ask questions about your life including your history, your family, and your support network. At the end of the session, we’ll decide on the best plan moving forward.
What are your rates?
My rate is $180 for a 50 minute psychotherapy session. Payment will be run through the Simple Practice Portal before the start of the session. A superbill can be provided upon request.
